Forged ARIAS and Wiseco pistons/rods

Why is ARIAS double the price of wiseco for forged rods and pistons? I saw wiseco pistons for 731 and ARIAS was 1300. Trying to understand why there is a substantial price gap.

Do you happen to have any links to each product in question?

I can't see any obvious differences between the two that would warrant the greater cost of the Arias pistons. It could come down to the formulation and composition of the grade of forged aluminum that Arias is using but that's purely a guess on my part. Perhaps a call into JC Speed would shed some light on the issue.

It's my understanding that GTM is no longer in business.

The Arias is probably more expensive because it's through GTM and they are price gouging the hell out of it.

YES!!! What Lt8Che said...I completely forgot about that aspect of it. May want to see what other vendors sell those Arias pistons so you can really make an apples to apples comparison.

Ya I just learned about GTMs shady business practices. I'm trying to figure out how much more boost I can run with forged rods and pistons.

Good lesson to learn...NEVER do business with GTM. Sam is a crook.

Yah man that was some really scary stuff I read on the thread. Pretty shady no doubt. Wow 850.....GTM was asking 1300. Amazing isn't it? That's ****ing nuts. The question now is how much more boost can I run with forged rods and pistons? I'm at 8 PSI atm....looking to up the boost.

The next areas of weakness to look at are your cylinder liners. May check out Darton and put in some iron sleeves. They have an application for the VQ37. How much more boost are you looking to run? Because that will dictate the next items. Next points to look at would be head studs and main bearing studs.

I would say I'm looking to run enough to hit 500 WHP. My guess is that would be roughly 10 PSI.

You won't need Darton sleeves then. Forged con rods and pistons will make 10 psi very reliable with a solid tune.

You should check out Tony's build thread here as he's got a built motor: https://www.myg37.com/forums/build-t...out-sedan.html

I read through his post. I think that's a body kit thread. Really cool and hella clean sedan but nothing about internal components. Mistake?
