What I need to know about a replacing the clutch

This is the first manual car I have ever owned so I need some advice from the pros . Took my car to my friend that's a tech for Infiniti, to have my alignment done. My car currently has 59k miles and last owner was a 40 year old woman that drove the car. So my friend at Infiniti told me I should start looking a for clutch soon because I am going to need one soon. Meaning next (10-20k miles) So I am not worried yet because the clutch still has some life, doesn't slip unless you are banging gears every now and then it will slip. Driving it normal it does fine. He did the 30 mph and putting it in 6th gear test, clutch didn't slip car just took off. What parts should I be looking into replacing? I read that these cars have non resurfaceable flywheels, so I guess I need a new one? Also would i need to buy a clutch kit or just a clutch disc? Also since we are on the subject, what are some good clutches for replacement? I don't need anything that will hold power because this is my daily and it will never see anything past maybe 300 whp if I feel like doing a Osiris tune on it. I drive 50 miles for work in it, so I don't need anything crazy aggressive, factory one seems nice in my opinion. So I just want to get some feedback on your guys thoughts on aftermarket clutches or recommendations. Thanks

New oem clutch and flywheel at the dealer is around 3k with labor. You can get JWT or Z1 clutch and flywheel combo and get it installed at the shop of your choice for less than half that price.

I'm a college student so I save up all my money for next semester's classes. The labor isn't the problem because my friend at Infiniti will be doing it for $400. Holy **** I didn't know a clutch was $775! I was hoping I could keep it altogether for below like $900-$1000. Ballin on a budget here lol

I would go with an OEM or OEM-like replacement as others have previously suggested. As long as you don't go with a stage 3/4 clutch on your daily driver you should be fine.

Does any place online sell an OEM clutch? Local Infiniti dealer and Sewell want $700 so it seems aftermarket seems the way to go. Also any with a dual mass flywheel? I'm not a fan of clutch noise with lightweight flywheels

As they are an actual performance shop with a great reputation I can't imagine that Z1 would offer customers a used clutch that's not in great condition.

Not necessarily do you need to replace the flywheel unless it's been abused. The OEM flywheel is a dual mass one. You can purchase a non OEM clutch with similar characteristic to the OEM one for cheaper. Exedy sells some. I'm not certain, but I believe Exedy makes the OEM clutch for our car.

^ LUK is the manufacturer of our clutch and flywheel units.

OP - low mileage used OEM packages can be found on this forum or other sources online. i picked up a used (5k miles) OEM PP/disc/flywheel set off the forum classifieds for $325 shipped. you are not in a rush so just keep checking out the ads over the next while and something will pop up.

the flywheel may be serviceable, but you won't really know until the gearbox is dropped so the friction surfaces can be inspected. my previous flywheel was fine. perhaps the previous owner of your car was easy on the clutch? to be honest, you have nothing to worry about in the short term. your clutch sounds like it is holding fine. planning for 20k miles ahead is a long time, but it never hurts if you find a great deal.
