HFC related questions

Hi I'm planning on purchasing a HFC for my 2012 coupe and I have a few questions regarding brand, oder, and noise.

1. It seems like the two most popular brands are Fast Intention and Berk, apart from the extra resonator for FI (reduce noise?) is there any difference between the two? I'm currently leaning towards Berk because the price seems fair and I heard good things about them.

2. I'm not a fan of the exhaust smell and I do not wish to smell that when I'm driving. I know test pipes generate noticeable oder inside the car (friend's Z) and if I switch to HFC, is the smell going to be noticeable? Between FI and Berk is there a difference in that aspect?

3. Between FI and Berk, which one sounds better? I understand this depends on individual preference so I'm looking for some inputs. I currently have the M7 exhaust system with a custom extension to fit my G.

4. One last thing relate to Smog, I live in SoCal and I was wondering if I were to switch to HFC is it possible to still pass a smog test in the future?

Thank You.

From: Framingham Ma,
Will be surprised how much you get on this . I was in the same boat and did the similar and started a thread . Got nothing LOL. I wound up between Kinetix ( no CEL ) smog legal HFC's and Z1's 49 state OBDII legal ( they claim) both priced under $400 .
I went with Z1 they be here next week and will be installing them. There are other options than FI and Berks.

FI is better, since Berk has rasp.
Berk is popular because its cheaper but most ppl end up switching to FI anyway.

Read previously you're getting the Z1 cats. Just put them on my sedan today.

Lots of rasp until they warm up as was said about the Kinetix cats as well. After they warm up there is no rasp at all, just a great deep throaty sounding exhaust note with that classic VQ undertone. There is a bit of hissing, but this seems to be a hallmark of the VQ engines when outfitted with aftermarket cats and exhaust.

Overall I am very pleased with them. For the price you can't go wrong with these.
