new vlsd diff going in

Hey guys,

purchased a vlsd diff with 3.692 gears and will be swapping out my open diff with 3.357. Will there be any problems with the speedo readings or do our cars read from the wheels? I have an 09 sedan with 7 spd auto.

thx

will let the community know of what happens when the install is done. Looking for time to do this. I am excited about the performance gains... I did this with my 72 chevelle... it turned a fast car into a beast... planted you in the seat every time you put your foot into it...

With the 3.692 FD you should be experiencing quite a bit more lovely twisting torque and get better city mpg. Please hurry and let us know!!!

You find time to get this done already? I'm wondering if you bought a whole 6mt driveshaft or ??? I've already secured a 2011 6MT VSLD diff and I'm holding out now on the driveshaft because I'm trying to figure whether I need the whole shaft or just the joint. BTW 499.00 for the diff on ebay.

Good price. What gearing are you going from and going to?

Having read your stuff I decided to straight swap the 3.69. I'm currently 3.36 stock 7AT gearing.

So.... this said, wouldn't the 3.69:1 diff have the OEM 3-flange w/pinion? Isn't the 3.69 out of an AUTO? Does the 7AT have the three bolt flange?

Why do you need to swap the driveshaft?

I'm confused.

7AT has the three bolt flange with 3.36 gears. The 6mt pumpkin has 3.69 andthe round 4 bolt. Your car was a 5AT that came with 3.69. That's what I took from you when you said somewhere that the 3.69 swap for the 7AT was almost equivalent to a manual going 4.08.

hey people, still on the forums but haven't done the swap yet. been told that I can change the flange on the pumpkin with the one that's on my car and everything should work. just been too busy to get anything done. I did have an issue with one of the bolt holes not being true and couldn't screw a bolt into the axle flange. Had to have a machine shop drill it out and install a heli coil... trying to work my schedule and get this done...
