G37 engine question

Hello Forum, I'm new to this forum, and new to having a G37. Right now I have a salvage g37, with a brand new engine only about 1,300 miles on it. We were using it for parts for a g37 we had in the family and since then we have gotten rid of it. So now I have a g37 engine sitting perfectly intact and nothing to use it on.

So my question is.. How much trouble would i run into if i bought a Nissan 370z with a blown engine and swapped the g37 engine in it? I am knowledgeable about cars, as I work on them for a living, just very new to the fine details on swapping the engine from a g37 to a 370z and what I would run into as a problem. From what I understand, they are both VQ37's.

If you could, please let me know the problems I would have if i did buy a 370z, and swapped the g37 engine in it, I would very much appreciate it!

Hi Nades,

Welcome to this forum. You are correct. There is no internal difference in the G37 VQ37VHR engine compared to the 370Z. Even if you have a G37x (with a tunnel in the oil pan) you can still swap everything over to the Z. I did from the G X to the Coupe.

Now there may be conflicts in some ECU matching different sensors, but I'd hope not. All of that can be ironed out.

Let us know how it goes. What kind of deal can you get on the blown 370Z? This sounds fun!
