Please help! Acceleration gone?!

I took my car in to BestBuy to get a Viper Remote Start 4205V installed. Picked up the car after the installer left, so I haven't been able to talk to him.

Everything seemed fine at first, but when I started heading home, I noticed that pressing on the gas pedal didn't have the same effect as before. Before I took the car to BB, when I pressed on the gas pedal, I'd be pushed back in my seat, but now, the same push would be accompanied with a SLOW acceleration.

Another thing I noticed is that when I press on the gas, the RPMs only go up to ~2300 -2500 RPM?

Going to go back to BB to talk to the guy tomorrow, but what could be the issue?

For some reason you are in what's commonly called "limp mode". Take it back and have them read the ECU to see what DTC code is displayed.

My guess is something got wired incorrectly. Best buy is about the last place I'd ever take any car to get anything installed.

I went back and they just uninstalled everything with a full refund. The first and last time I ever try BB. Was giving them the benefit of the doubt. Smh =\

Unfortunately, your problem may not be completely solved (I truly hope it is though). if I were you I'd read the codes with an OBD scanner to make sure everything is hunky dory. It sounds like somewhere in your installation they zigged when they should have zagged. If they screwed it up, I don't know that I'd completely trust them to fix it properly.
