How high can we safely raise the redline on the 3.7 before valve float is an issue? 8k?

 

I've got a tune on my g37 and my tuner bumped the limiter to 8k. If you don't have a tune, I would keep it at stock levels.

 

Unless you have alot of bolt ons or FI... not worth it. 8k seems ok but listen to it. Thing is screaming. Most dynos show our motor falling flat at redline with a steady decline in trq. With a bigger turbo a higher rpm could help you stay in the turbo spool range and give you alittle longer in a gear.

 

fair enough, just curious. I moved my timing to -2 with my bullydog. I tried +2 but the car felt waay too rubber band like in the power delivery. It was like all the power was in the top. With it at -2 I feel more torque and the hp doesn't feel like it lost anything
