Thumbs up EcuTek tune complete - solid gains on 2013 G37XS AWD Sedan

First of all, I want to thank Adam (Race Consulting Agency), Coz (Performance Aftermarket and OEM Parts for the 300ZX 350Z G35 G37 240SX Skyline GT-R Nissan Peformance lineup), and my installer Mike Creighton (Creighton's Auto Repair) for all of the help the past 7 months deciding on piecing everything together. It hasn't been easy, especially on my wallet.

The great folks over at R/T Tuning in Lansdale, PA (R/T Tuning – Dyno Tuning & Engine Performance Specialists) handled her well yesterday after all of the bolt-ons and upgrades I've done the past half year. Mind you that she only has 7500 miles on her. Vince was actually on the dyno with her for 6 hours tweaking and pushing limits.

I was originally scheduled to go with UpRev, but was talked into EcuTek by several in the industry as the way to go. The one big thing EcuTek has going for it over Uprev is the ability to adjust cam timing. Uprev has yet to nail that down. I believe this provided some additional gains when tuned over an Uprev tune. That and they'll be cracking a ton more ROMs in the future over UpRev from what I've been told.

I was hesitant at first because EcuTek did not have my full ECU ROM file unlocked. I was apparently the first Infiniti G37XS AWD Sedan to be downloaded, cracked, and tweaked. I gave in though, and glad I did. I think the results speak for themselves:

Performance Modifications:

-EcuTek Tuned (363HP with a standard 15% driveline loss for 308.6HP at the wheels and 340LB FT of torque)

-K&N Typhoon Dual Cold Air Intake

-Fast Intentions Resonated High Flow Cats

-Motordyne M370 Intake Manifold

-Ark GRIP Catback Exhaust

-20" Giovanna Kilis Full Matte Black Matte Black - Staggered Rims
(front: 20x8.5 front 5x114.3 35et, back: 20x10.5 rear 5x114.3 42et)

-Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 Tires
(front: 245-35-ZR20, back: 285-30-ZR20)

-Eibach Pro Kit springs

-SPC camber kits

From: Framingham Ma,
Nice witre up and very NICE numbers.
I'm still one of those on the fence with EcuTek and UPREV. I am impressed with the numbers you got but I dont have the M370 or HFC's and made 298WHP 240WHTQ. Just wonder if it's worth the 600$ more than UPREV.( My retune is only $250) Does EcuTek have to ability to adjust the cooling fans also? I have still yet to hear anyone mention this.

UpRev in Austin told me last week that their tune really wouldn't make a huge change on my 2013 G37S Sedan. They also said that getting a CAI wouldn't make much change.

Thoughts?

Yes, EcuTek can adjust the fans to kick on earlier.

I've been watching the EcuTek threads on 370z.com and it's been a hard sell. There's a few dyno charts around, but not as many as I hoped. EcuTek claims to have full control over timing adjustments, but there hasn't been any data out that shows this.

EcuTek releases new features and updates for the BRZ/FR-S, GTR, and Mazda vehicles almost every week, but nothing near that frequently for the Z/G cars. I hope it does well overall and gets continued and more rapid support and doesn't go the way of the COBB AccessPort.

I guess I'll stay here on the fence before I make a decision on EcuTek or UpRev.

which dyno your car run this on ? op run & tuned on mustang dyno as in pic no.1
also there are too many variables to match same cars numbers
..........

Ecutek came to this platform a little late uprev beat them to it

i wish we see huge gain or it will be the same as uprev ,

you need headers to complete your bolt on

thanks lot DJE44 i needed any info regarding G37 tuned by Ecutek

Mine was also on a mustang, ( The local "Real" numbers) LOL. I know there is a lot of variables on cars, temps and dynos but numbers should be so waht close if the dyno is the "same" machine.
I did a base pull on a DD a few months before and ran 263 WHP and 229 WTRQ but do even include it because differnet dyno at a different place. I used it as an maybe base run?

Remember ECutek, and Uprev are only tools.
The brilliance is in the person using the tools.

Sure Ecutek can change cam/valve timing, but which tuner out there has
the brains to use it safely and effectively???

A street tune also is NOT about pure net power, its also drivability.

Do you think your mods helped much with the gain? What about stock 2013 G37S sedan?

Nice numbers! What was the temperature and humidity in the shop? Was weather correction taken into account with these results? Any chance you can post a printout instead of the screen shot?

yup you are right in same mods they should be close from ( 5 -10hp ) difference ,
he should be around 310-314 but as you know M370 makes you lose some near 7k rpm
