Sudden RPM drop (video)

It just started yesterday:

While accelerating my G acts completely normal, when i let off the gas it quickly drops to 500 (vehicle shudders) then the RPMs rise back above 1k.

In the video it isnt dropping as quickly as it was yesterday, but still fast (dont mind the tire light. I had a nail and havent gotten around to doing the warning reset diy)

Wouldn't that just be your G falling back into Gear?

No, I've had my G for awhile now and never had it act like this. Thanks for the response though.

Noticed this happening to my G tonight. Let off of the throttle, and bounces below 1000 to about 750, then jumps back up to 1100ish. Just put new exhaust on, maybe need tune(planing on it soon).

Idk, it's not stalling or sputtering. Shifting is smooth, and no issues or cel. Wondering if this is normal and I just never noticed it before.

Hey SgtGoldy did you find out what the root of the problem was? I am having the same issue and was thinking of cleaning the TBs.

I've been having this same issue after i cleaned my TB, don't know if thats the cause since the problem didnt start right away. It comes and it goes.

Iwould be cruising around 40MPH, I let go of the gas and the RPM would drop to 500 and bounce back up to 1k.

I did the valve close position, relearn, and idle reset but it didnt fix it. I cleaned my MAF and it didnt help.
I took it to the dealer, they said it was because of my Still gen3 intake, but this just recently happened and I've had the Gen3 for the longest time.

I m starting to think it is because I damaged the TB during the clean or my MAF is damaged.
Did anyone do anything similar?

Nope, mine was just random. Literally one day driving to work after the car sat for the whole day it started. Then nothing. I haven't had a problem with it for awhile now

What year is your G venzz? There's a TSB about this issue which affect 2008 G's. It requires a ECM reprogram to be fixed.

TSB here: https://www.myg37.com/forums/attachm...tb07-048a1.pdf

I found it on this thread

I finally got around to cleaning the TB's and swapping the spark plugs.

After the cleaning the RPM spikes were still there but less radical. Instead of a spike of 500-800RPM its around 100-200RPM now.

After reading the other thread (link is in previous post), I drove down to the dealer and had them do a TPM and ECM scan to see if it was that. The G already had the latest TPM and there was an update for the ECM. I did the upgrade. Now I'm just waiting for the learning process to finish and we'll see if it comes back. So far so good.
