Low level of engine coolant
Low level of engine coolant
I've had my g for almost 3 years and a half and I have 24.5 K on it. Since I got this car back in 2009 I noticed that the engine coolant was at the bare minimum line which is marked "min" on the reservoir. I checked the reservoir recently and it has lowered almost to the lowest possible level it can to yet be visible in the reservoir.
Have you guys experienced the coolant lowering through a long period of time? Performance levels haven't changed and the car has never overheated. I just got the Nissan engine coolant and would be filling it up tonight which brings me to the next question. Do you think I should top it off or flush the old coolant and replace it completely. I got the green 50/50 mix.
Thanks for your help.

The reservoir you are looking at is simply an overflow tank. Open your actual radiator cap and check the level there. You can top off the actual radiator and the overflow tank with the 50/50 if needed, but these cars are designed to go 100K without needing a flush.
Thanks BB, I'll just top off the overflow tank for piece of mind. Where exactly is the actual radiator cap located? How do I know it's had enough engine coolant? I'm a noob I know. Lol thanks!
