Transmission Reprogram (7AT)

All I can say is, wow. Huge difference (in a positive way)

Before, my car would sometimes feel like it want to shift "too fast" causing it to almost up-rev while shifting gears. The entire 7-spd just felt sloppy, and it always felt like it never knew what gear it wanted to be in. Took the car in and had them reprogram the engine computer, as well as the TCM and holy crap what a difference. If you guys are having similar issues with the 7-spd, definitely take it in for a reflash.

Just wanted to share.

How did you manage to convince them to do this? Did you literally just walk in and tell them you want them to reprogram the engine computer?

Pretty much. The car only has 24,000 miles - there's been quite a few computer updates since the car initially came out. So I told them to update it. It's covered under warranty.

It depends on how recently an update was put out. Swing by your dealer and check.

Or call them with your VIN - I believe they can look it up by that.

How many miles are on your car? You should have a basic 4 year/60k mile warranty.

I was at the dealer this week and asked about this-i've got 71k on my 09 sedan.they said the software takes about 35 mins to run once connected so whole job would be an hour labor at $115/hr.think i am going to get this done but still watching peoples comments about the reflash-seems at this point most think it is an improvement.

I also just had the TCM and ECM reprogrammed in my 2009 x coupe 7at. FYI if anyone wants the TSB its ITB10-075A. I believe that this TSB applies to some 2008 and 2009 vehicles. Acceleration and shifts are much better.

I also had the TSB ITB10-010C done, including a new battery, to hopefully fix my dead battery issue I would have every 4 days or so. So far so good.

Both TSBs done at my local dealer with no questions asked and no attempt to charge or up sell.

I just got mine done today on my 2011 coupe. I told them my throttle response is horrible and if they could help me check if there is an update for the ECM & TCM. They didn't need TSB #'s or anything. They said if there is one, it will show up when they check the car out. Like the guy mentioned above, it actually does take about 35mins to get it done. But the difference is definitely not a placebo. I truely feel it
