G37 with dealership. Transmission replacement.
Hey everyone,
I purchased a 2010 G37 certified pre-owned in July 2012 with about 11,000 miles on it. I've driven it around 4,000 miles and always felt that the car shifted funny. Too jerky, lagging while accelerating after coasting, hard downshifts while both on D and DS (not while panic braking, just residential driving). About two weeks after buying it, I took it back and had the dealership apply all the TSBs related to these issues (even the latest 12-027c). It improved but not too much. Now it has 15,000 miles and I took it in for a regular service and mentioned I was still not happy with the shifting and wanted them to check it out. Well it turns out that 3 different techs drove it and they all agreed that the car does not feel right. The service rep just told me they will probably have to order a new transmission and replace it (all under warranty). He mentioned this is extremely rare and that in his 10 year experience with Infiniti, only 3 trannys have been replaced. Now I'm worried that the car might really be defective and that even with the new transmission I'll end up with a defective car. Any thoughts? Should I be worried even if I get a brand new transmission?
Would this affect me in the future for resale value if a full transmission replacement is shown on the history? Any other thoughts as to what might be wrong?
Thanks!!!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I have a 2010 that i bought this june and i must say this is a very well built car. especially compared to my 07 gmc yukon which is a pile of crap!
I think you should be happy that they are taking care of it. Things happen with cars, it won't affect the value like you are thinking. And it sure as heck doesn't make the entire car defective.
