Mid-Pipe Dilemma

I've bought a Tanabe Mid-Pipe and havent recieved it yet but they told me since i have an AWD the mid pipe is shaped different and that i would have to modify the mid pipe.

my question is (After searching on google and other forums and cannot find the answer) What is the difference between the two (AWD & RWD)? Shapewise... if anyone got pics of the two different midpipes for a g37 coupe thats be awesome but im having no luck at all

The Y pipe for the AWD off the cats to the center pipe is shaped different to wrap around the transfer case. The center pipe will fit the AWD or the RWD.

Yes you have to specify Awd or RWD. I bought a Megan Racing Y pipe $175 and the Tanbe mid pipe $540 Bolts up to the OEM rear muffler.

Please post pics once you receive the midpipe and detail any modification, if any, you had to make to get it to fit. I have an X coupe too and have been very interested in the Tanabe mid-pip but couldn't find anything confirming if it would fit or not

I Called tanabe they told me the y pipe fits but the mid pipe doesnt, but members are telling me its the other way around. i guess i will have to recieve both parts to see how it all fits and what adjustments i had to make for an X coupe.

I would think Tanabe would probably be the best source for confirmation on fitment but regardless let us know how the installation goes on the mid and Y pipe

The tanabe mid pipe will fit stock or aftermarket Y pipe without out any modifications what so ever. I bought the Megan Racing Y pipe and Tanabe mid pipe everything bolted on no issues. I kept the rear stock muffler
