weird sound when shifting into drive

sometimes the stick is really hard to move from Park to Drive, "hard" as in "not-so-smooth-shifting", i have to literally give it a bit of a jerk with some force; when i shift the car from Park into Drive, the car also makes a strange sound, the best way i can describe the sound is like someone knocking on your wall and you hearing it on the other side. I dont think this is normal because this only happens SOMETIMES, other times the car starts up fine and the shift from P to D is smooth.

ok try this, next time after you put it in park, put on the parking brake before you take your other foot off the brake. then when you start the car dont turn off the parking brake until its in Drive

Helloooo my friends

please try what Iam telling u now.. To all those people who suffer from that "snap" from the gear...

when u stop the car, first apply the E-Brake / foot brake then put the gear to P... and when u drive, Put the gear in D or R first then release the hand break / foot break / e-break.. *Of course with ur other foot on the breaks in both situations..

please try it and give feedback..

and regarding the question whether it hurts the transmission or not ? yes it does hurt it, if not in short term, would be long term..

thank you

Yes my friend, its suppose to occur more when the car weight depends on the gear which is in down/up hill.. and the snap will be harder and louder depends on the car weight load over the gear..

thank you
