I'm wondering the same thing ... as I'm headed down the same route with the gears. I chewed up my left rear in 7000 miles - I can imagine with the gears that will only get way worse. Local shop quoted me $590 for the gear swap, might as well put in a LSD while their in there.

The Giken LSD seems like too much - money/performance. Waiting for a pm'd price for the Quaife. Any reason in particular you found for choosing this one over the others.

Off topic - still looking for a list of parts for the gear swap. Can I pull those from the FSM? Is there a parts catalog? And some input on what should be replaced, or at least ordered to have on hand to prevent possible downtime ... bearings, etc?

Subsrcibed - when's it going in? Can't wait to hear your impressions.

EDIT: nevermind I see the install is tomorrow.

I've been waiting for the supposed press release for the Stage 2 - you've given up on it?

Cool. Can you describe what sort of difference you felt? How was it better than with OEM?

Thanks BB! I had pulled that same list as well but wasn't sure if it was the same in ours. I think Bone said he only needed the spacers, hopefully he'll confirm. I'll probably get all of it and just send back what i don't use.

Will wait for his install, just to see what we need for the lsd install - bearings, pinion adjustments etc.

Any place in particular you guys like to order these from?

I got the quaife + 4.08 and youll love them. One thing though, I am a 7AT and I feel my Transmission not struggling but barely keeping up with the shifts with the 4.08's, I was thinking of Super Charging as well, but my thought are if I should keep the 4.08'S? Also I can't use my stock FD with my quaife LSD right? since it is a Manual LSD type?

Im trying to figure out how a new LSD will make a difference, when traction control takes over even when switched off.

Really? - is there a thread on this somewhere you can point me to? Hell thats part of my startup routine, turning the VDC off.

I don't autocross, where it seems you might really notice the upgraded lsd in the corners ... but I do like it to hook up at the light/strip ... I was just wondering if it would be worth it for straight line acceleration?
