lighter flywheel/clutch and wheels/tires do make some improvements (3-5%), though

You don't think the OEM catback is too restrictive?

Not compared to the cats...

Compared to the cats, diminishing returns makes changing the exhaust do very little, especially when you consider noise increase vs hp gain.

I vote for lighter tire and wheels or lighter brake set up.

My magnaflow and Berk's are perfect IMO on the sound level. You can hear them a little while running up through the gears normally, quiet as stock cruising on the highway, and come alive when you stand on it.

I vote for hfc ,tune , ltw wheels and stop there until you decide if you want FI. An intake will be useless at that point and would have to be removed for any s/c or turbo kit. Just make sure if you get a s/c that you don't use their canned tune which won't account for the hfc. Good luck!
