G35 Coupe with Titan V8 swap Drift car. WOW. - G35 NYC

Anyone remember the guy with the black G35 on G35Driver that started the swap, did custom fuel rails and a really nice intake manifold, but then never finished? It was one of those disappointing and epic fails.

When I was shopping for a luxury sport coupe I had driven the S5, the G37x, and the BMW 335xi coupe. No question that the G37x was by far the best bang for the buck. The S5 felt "heavy" to drive and the 335xi felt underpowered until I got onto the highway.
What good is all that S5 power if it's in the shop all the time? And what about the price tag?

Said right in my post that the G was "best bang for buck", that's one of the reasons why I am driving one now. The S5 is overpriced.

I'd think that the V8 in the M56 is a bit of overkill but the V8 in the FX50 should keep the price down and be more viable as they can use them as the FX50's really aren't flying off the lots. I really thought that was what the IPL was going to be then we got a giant turd.

How much do the 3.7L, 5.0L and 5.6L engines weigh? You wouldn't want the bigger engine to throw off the weight distribution and handling of the car.

There is still power to be found on the 3.7 in NA form. Right now the VVEL only works on the intake side. I'm sure if it's implemented on the exhaust side as well, there should be some significant gains. Especially torque since exhaust side VVEL should almost act like a variable exhaust. Imagine 350+ hp with a big block V8-like torque curve.

In the early '70's we used to put Z28 engines in 240Z's. I think there is a still a kit to do that and better lighter engines to be had now. It was almost a weekend project then. I'm not sure about even a M56 / G37 swap today. I know tthe tallent is here in the forum. But, the electronics would be a bit much for me.
IMHO G needs factory FI. Add $10K to make a sale or keep a sale next generation. Competitors already have FI "comparible" cars. IMHO there is too big a performance and price point gap between the G37 and GTR or whatever two Infiniti "Sport" models we can compare. A G37-38 SC or TT would be a possible fit in that gap for the market and after market mods point that way.
