HELP, car won't start - key fob de-magetized?

I had my key fob in my pocket with my magnetic money clip and now by G won't recognize the key to start. The fob will unlock the doors though.

3 questions:

How can I get the car started without the key fob?

Is is possible to de-magnetize the fob this way and have this problem or could there be another problem?

If it is de-magnetized, how can I get it fixed?

there's a little key fob slot by the trunk release area, try inserting the key fob and see if it works or not

No it's a slot near the trunk release button. You insert your key into the slot and it should start.

it's right underneath the trunk release button and above the hood latch. you can't miss it! Just stick in your whole key fob into that slot.

by open the doors to you mean you press the button on the fob and they open, or you walk up and use the unlock button on the handle and the car sense your key?

The key fob slot is located left of the steering wheel underneath the trunk release button inside the cabin. Stick the fob in there and try to start the car. Maybe the battery in your fob died.

Never heard of key fobs being de-magnetized.... damn mutants!

If car doesnt turn on when you put the key fob in the slot, it maybe a sensor in the clutch... (car doesnt recognize the clutch pressed down while you start the car)... had that problem a few months back and dealer fixed it under warranty.

sorry I have been absent because of my move this past weekend. I did find the slot for the key fob and the car would not start. I hooked up jumper cables to a buddies car and it fired up. However, the key fob only worked to start the car with it in the slot and the car would not recognize the key while in my pocket to start the car or to lock and unlock the car. I took it to Infiniti and they reprogrammed everything and now everything is fine. I'm not sure why the car battery died or why the key fob stopped working with the car.
