ART, XYZ, HFC, and a tune.

So this is what I'm looking at (after ZERO help on a previous post), and I know its going to rock the convention boat. As I don't want a loud exhaust, but want more power and torque, I talked to Tony at Motordyne. I used the MD gear on my Z and made crazy gains, so I am willing to hear this man out.

Based on my car ('11 XS sedan), the most power/tq for the money with the quietest note is the Advanced Resonance Pipes to XYZ to Single HFC to stock exhaust, coupled with a tune.

Going to add a stock size pulley, and the hotchkis sways at the same time.

Let the debate begin.

xyz pipe allows for single HFC option at end of y pipe (in addition to resonator and normal pipe). you can see a pic of it at the motordyne site if interested.

as for performance of ART+XYZ w/ HFC, not sure as a set but have had good gains individually.

i probably would have gone this route if i knew it was an option when i started modding.

on a side note, motordyne said they are developing the remaining exhaust pieces (mid pipe + muffler) to go with the ART+XYZ (along with a separate true dual option that is not compatible with the XYZ obviously). i'm sure there will be several of these full system dynos when it does come out as motordyne has incentivized independent customer dynos in the past (like for M370).

Why install an HFC? Why not stock exhaust coupled with the ART pipes and catless XYZ? I'm thinking a single HFC in the middle would somewhat limit the flow and negate much of the gains you get from the ART + XYZ. I don't know TBH.
