Help Supercharger on 2008 coupe auto tranny?
it'll all be stock when it's done lol. will update tomorrow or saturday when i get some nice pic's going
^ Last time he went back to stock he wound up buying a GTM SC kit... This time maybe he's going for a full blown TT ...
JK, Wei already sent me some teaser pics. His cars coming along nicely.

It had nothing to do with the NA versus FI, it was the custom tune. It would definitely improve the shifting for a Naturally Aspirated car. I am sure that the shift kit is worth the price also. I plan to have one installed eventually. It is not really that expensive although I do not know what the installation cost would be. You can order it from GTM or possibly even direct from TransGo. There is a thread for a TT installation on a 2008 5AT that included the TransGo kit. I can't remember the name of the member but he actually did the installation himself in the shop where his install was being done.

My car happens to be at GTM right now and I am considering the TCM flash, but we don't know how the car will behave combining BOTH flash and shift kit. Doing more research now.
I would hold off on the shift kit and see what the TCM flash can do by itself. It seems to be much more versatile and can probably "removed" later on down the road. The shift kit actually modifies the valve body using changes to the passages which seem more invasive.

Nick the tuner at Mac Autosport did tell me that the TCM "tuning" was the most challenging part of my tune. It took a while to get it dialed in and it takes some road driving to determine how it actually performs in everyday conditions.
Good luck with your upgrades and let us know which direction you go with the tranny.
I'm not FI yet, but I have the Transgo shift kit, and I think it was definately worth the money. Faster, firmer, and more commanding shifts. I easily chirp my tires in 2nd and 3rd gear. The kit was fairly inexpensive on Summit and install was about $700 from a reputable tranny shop. Make sure whoever installs it knows what the heck their doing and you will be a happy camper.

You probably increased with the uprev quite a bit, it usually unlocks a good amount of power after bolt-ons are put in. I think the transgo kit may not chirp on an all-stock car, but I can see why it would on yours. Anyway, seems like a wortwhile mod for sure....putting on my to do list...Why the Rvit, I thought that was only for FI to monitor boost etc? What's the point of it for NA or did you just get it b/c you're going FI later?
Yeah I definitely want to know why DS is better when you go FI, I drive in M mode probably 90% of the time (I know the best gear for each the corners on the twisty road to work

)
No problem,
The R-vit is definitely good to have if you are FI, which is coming for me real soon, but it is still good to have even when NA. The R-vit has the ability to monitor AFR's, water temp, Tranny temp (with the right harness), voltage, and many other things. It can also control when you want your fans to turn on. The R-vit cannot monitor boost, so a separate boost controller would be needed. I plan on Supercharging, so I wouldn't need to worry about a boost gauge and boost spikes issues.
