"Chunks of metal" or shavings? There's a huge difference...

2 big chucks, one was L shaped...then two small chucks... sorry for the discription....only way i can think of saying it. changed the fluid...shifts perfect...just wanted to be cautious about a year left on warranty from factory... wasnt sure if i should wait till something happens before bringing it in or what.

That was a good description, just making sure. Doesn't sound normal to me at all. Did you keep the metal? Photos?

Brass or steel??

Brass are syncros.
Steel are gears.

I would take it in for warranty now, and bring the metal pieces with you.

That's not good. You could always tell the dealer to inspect it, but have to pay if they don't find anything. If they were pretty big chunks though, they can't miss it...

You didn't save the chunks? What? That is definitely not normal. Expect some catastrophic failure very soon.

no the chucks drained out into the drainage at the vavoline....just saw them coming out but it was too late. Well its shifts good now...what kinds of things should i be looking out for?

taking it to the dealer when it shifts perfect is a waste of time.

Let me put it this way. If anything other than oil comes out of the drain plug, then you have something really wrong going on inside.

My guess the oil was being drained into one of those industrial 20-55 gallon drain pans. My drain pans have a screen just because I wanna catch anything that's not supposed to be there.
