Question about throttle @ higher RPMs
I know it's been discussed, but I was hoping to have a better understanding on the matter. I've heard that as the car gets closer to red line/fuel cutoff the throttle flaps close to ~40%. I never really noticed on spirited runs, but I've noticed more recently against various friends (Pacific Raceway). We had the opportunity to run in a straight line. I'm concerned as to WHY I'm always the first to fall behind once we start running into triple digits. The 335i I can understand (JB3 @ Map3, Ark DP's, Intake). Our TL-S 6MT on the other hand, is a bit baffling. Yes, he's essentially fully bolted (UR Underdrive Crank Pulley, V3 J-Pipe, V2 Precats, Injen CAI, Comptech SS, [Resonator deletes], Light weight TE37's) on and thus has a better breathing car @ higher rpms, but it's rated at 286 crank hp; I'm supposed to be lighter too. I'm essentially stock, minus the Injen cold airs, performance wise. Is it really the throttle flaps that're running me down? Osiris?
Thanks coupes,
Eric
