Gtm oil cooler + temperature bypass

I know some people have been asking questions about oil coolers and cold winter temps and how well the temperature bypass valve works in cold weather.

I have the GTM oilcooler and bypass valve. I live in edmonton alberta and the winter temps can get down to -56C.

I have been driving m car now for the last 2 weeks in cold temps. The outside tempsa have ranged from +4C to -33C . I have the HKS Camp2 systems in m car and I can tell ou that no matter what the outside temp has been the oil temps have ranged from 160F to 192F during hiway and city driving.

Some were worried about it not being a true bypass valve and onl limiting the flow throught the cooler. Well this is not an issue as far as I can see.

I'll continue to monitor the situation and post some pics of the camp 2 screen with my peek oil temp this winter.

Sounds good. Thanks for the quick review. I have the oil cooler but not the thermostat. I don't think I'll need that here in So Cal.

Well with the built in thermostat if it sees under 160F it stops the flow through the oil cooler until the oil exceeds 160F again. This will be beneficial for us Northerners when weather gets tremendously cold. I'm glad everything is working out.

Hey Shumby. I am posting up some pics. If you want me to take em down just let me know and I'll delete.

Oil cooler is on the drivers side (almost like an extension of the bumper)

Thermastat up close. This sits right behind the oil cooler. I had to make a few more adjustments than what a coupe would have to do because I'm a vert.
