lol I rather keep thinking that it's barely 300 HP to the wheels... it'd makes me feel better knowing I'm losing 10% due to drivetrain... and not 20-25% from drivetrain. cause seriously, if my car was like that I'd be buying a new car tomorrow... that's just bad design...

Yeah, it's really not that bad. 20 to 25% is definitely a bit much. Automatic trans cars have a bit more drivetrain loss than manual trans cars. But overall, they should both be closer to 15%.

example 08 coupe pulled 287whp,x model coupe 260whp.

(other than cayman S, maybe its because of light weight car, So 370Z may catch up with cayman S)

man forget about the myth ur friends are telling that our car is slow..its pretty fast for a "V6"

all we need is more torque not more HP..because we already got enough HP..

I, personally.. love my car.. I can smoke most of ur "430" HP cars
For a v6 its quick but 330hp ain't squat. I've tangled with several 400+ engine cars (as camaros, 5.0 stangs, turboed 350z) and I'm sorry but you didn't smoke any of those. Not without a blower or a turbo. And we need more HP/tq if you want to compete with actual sports cars and not luxury cars with some sport added in to them. 330hp aimt **** in the realm of sports cars so quit thinking these cars are as bad *** as you make them out to be. Its still a heavy *** car with a v6. A strong v6 but still not enough to be what I consider a true sports car. For crying out loud the damn mustang v6 is 300+HP. In this day and age if you want to be taken seriously as a sports car then you need to be knocking on 12sec quarter miles and 400+ ponies. The car is fun and peppy but its damn sure not gonna scare anyone. Not naturally aspirated. Slap a blower or a turbo on and its a whole new ball game.

I agree with you here.

The G's aren't suppose to be Sports cars. It's considered luxury a car with a little kick to it. I really don't worry about the HP (take that back I do to some extent) but 330 is plenty for me as a daily driver.

If you want to make this car a beast add a turbo/super charger to it. Than it would be a all out sports car.

well my brother, is the camaro that you mentioned was a v6? I dont think so, in fact.. a good driver can catch up with camaro v8.. ha!!

mustang is a v8.. so im gonna skip that..

turbo Z.. lol you said it by ur self.. its TURBO man.. a turbo g37 can pass a turbo Z in reverse while the Z is forward.

now on other hand about "true" sports car.. hmm. if i were you, looking for a "sports" car. I should go and buy old 80's mustang and mod them to hell and still have money to spend on fuel with the money i bought a stock g37 coupe..

this car is not for drag race nor for track.. its just a mini sport car that can make ur face smile when smoking most of NA v6 cars and some of v8 cars

Since it's Sunday after Xmas and I'm bored, I took some time to study all the recent manufacturer offerings for NA V6's (eliminated I-6, H-6, VR6) based on their site specs.

Available NA V6 with the highest output from each manufacturer:
Acura's 3.7 - 305hp
Audi 3.2 FSI- 270hp (they have to supercharge their 3.0 to get 300hp)
Buick 3.6 - 288hp
Cadillac 3.6 - 304hp
Chevy 3.6 - 312hp
Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep Pentastar 3.6 - 305hp
Ford 3.7 - 305hp
Honda 3.5 - 271hp
Hyundai 3.8 - 306hp
Kia 3.5 - 276hp
Lexus 3.5 - 306hp
Lotus 3.5 - 276hp
Mazda 3.7 - 273hp
Mercedes 3.5 - 300hp
Mitsubishi 3.8 - 265hp
Nissan/Infiniti 3.5 - 303hp
Porsche 3.6 300hp / 3.0 hybrid - site says 333hp for just the V6 w/o electric motor
Saab 3.0 - 265hp
Suzuki 4.0 *truck - 261hp
Toyota 3.5 - 270hp / 4.0 *truck - 270hp
Volvo 3.2 - 240hp
VW 3.6 - 283hp

I think that is a pretty complete list for comparison and remember the highest advertised output of the VQ37VHR is on the Nismo 370z - 350hp. Impressive.
Impressive ! That is some great data work you done there.

Infiniti really does have an amazing engine that is for sure.

You made this way too easy.

2011 mustang V6 13.7 @ 102
2009-11 camaro V6 14.0 @ 99

The mustang will walk the G37 from a roll but from a stop it's a driver's race. The camaro will be left on the dust from a roll but from a dig it will keep up for a while. Not bad considering that both cars are 25hp short. The G is heavier and produces less torque, that's the real difference here.

The Seden and Coupe have different horse power.

Also, our car doesn't even exist in GT5 lol. They only have the Nissan Skyline 370GT in GT5 and not Infiniti G37 coupe.

check out the engine spec here:

on my piece of paper.

V6's

Camaro has no chance at all.

Mustang will keep up until mid range and that all. G37 will begin to pull away and not look back. G's top end is where it shines.

well, i was reading through the thread, and i would like to share one info!

I am from Bahrain! ( ARABIAN GULF )

Since 2008 the g37s coupe with Gulf Specs got 350 HP!!

and the G35 Sedan comes with 330 HP

The G37 Sedan comes with 347 HP!!

Thats why in the GCC, Gulf specs cars are more expansive than US specs (imported ones)

i dont know why Gulf specs cars got more power than US Specs!! but the 370z still got the 330 HP same as the US Specs!
