Engine oil Light

Hey guys im new this is my first post,

I just leased a 2010 g37 sedan a few months ago and as a part of the lease it is time for my tri-monthly oil change. but my car only has 2200 miles on it and i checked the oil and it seems to be fine. The issue is when i get in the car the engine oil light continues to come on. Im wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there could be a possible solution as i do not live close to the dealership and i dont wanna make the drive for nothing.

thanks!

Wow on a new car? you might want to take it to the dealer, I doubt that its normal.

Ummm if the engine oil pressure light comes on you should pull over immediately and not drive the car.

If you are referring to the oil pressure light....have dealer check immediately....either a bad sensor or low oil pressure.

are you referring to the maintenance reminder, or an actual warning light? if it's the reminder you should adjust the intervals to suit your driving characteristics. but don't go longer than 6 mos between oil changes.

i only drive ~10-12k kms (6-7k miles) a year so i just get a change at ~6 months or 5-6000kms.

I really think it's the reminder.

I have the "maintenance - Oil Filter" and "maintenance - Engine Oil" lights come on. I did an oil change about 2 months ago only. I was on a long trip and it just started to appear, every time I reset it it comes back.

How do I know if i should take it to the dealer or if it's just a maintenance reminder?

press the INFO button on your dash, then continue onto the next settings and adjust from there.

Same happened to me after my first service, the dealer forgot to reset the maintenance reminders for oil and filter.
