"Heavy" clutch replacement?

So all the tell tale sings are letting me know that I'm going to be doing a very early and unexpected clutch replacement. My question is what is the clutch most members here have been having the most life out of? I'm not looking for high performance...I just want something that will last longer than 18k-20k miles.

Too early to tell that. Only a few have had clutch replacements and I don't think anyone has any idea of the longevity of aftermarket units because most who have them haven't had them for very long.

That's fair....well maybe some people who have gone aftermarket can give the brand they bought and milage they've gotten thus far???

Southbend Stage III. Just broken in for about 650 miles. I like it so far.

OEM lasted 60K miles.

Try changing your clutch fluid (brake fluid in the clutch system). It may help, but most likely not.

If you're going through clutches in 20k miles, it is likely your driving habits that are making the clutch wear so quickly. You may also want to try to get it warrantied.

The dreaded "normal wear and tear" that Infiniti likes to abuse.

... I would look into Southbend's stage 1 clutch if you plan to stay relatively stock. It rides like OEM but it's a lot more durable.

Are you looking to boost? The torque rating is fairly high on the Stage 3. I went with the stage 2 kit which should be enough to handle the power output for GTM/Stillen's supercharger kit.

just had the fluids all flushed...unfortunately i bought the car with 16k miles on it and the previous owner clearly didnt know jack about driving a stick. My driving habbits are just fine. And no one in their right mind will warranty a clutch. Atleast not for a decent price.

I think some people have gone with the Jim Wolf Technology clutch.

Jim Wolf Technology website

Don't know how they've liked it.

I got the Stage III with that potential eventuality in mind. It's not harsh at all. I also replaced the OEM flywheel with Southbend's billet steel one. It's only 7 lbs lighter than stock. It makes a little more noise but the OEM one was noisy already so it wasn't a big sacrifice in refinement IMO. Certainly not like those poor souls with a JWT aluminum wheel. That thing sounds horrible.
