one thing that also helps is after the dyno tune is a road tune. the dyno can only simulate the road so much, so after tuning on the dyno the tuner takes the car on the road and does fine point adjustments to get it just right
Any problems with just buying from UpRev and using the flashes that you can get from them? Since they are pro's on tuning and the product I figured it doesn't really get any better. Thoughts? Pro's/con's by not using a shop and just flashing yourself with the provided downloads? I know you don't get a dyno but what else would I be missing?

Now will there be problems? No. But will you see as good of a response and as good of gains from e-mailing your ECU as you would from going to a tuner? Not even close.
They may be pros but it is truly impossible to fully tune a car through email.
^ +1....
Every car is different.. Mods are different.. A/F ratio is different. A generic reflash of the ecu can not account for all those factors, but a tuner monotoring a specific car will better fine tune a factors than a generic reflash.

i got it done there for 500. i was the first car they did maybe thats why it was less but say you want to pay 500
The dealership can't detect anything if you get a tune. So that issue doesn't need to be worried about either. Getting a REAL tune from a tuner who uses UpRev software is completely different than a "tune" from something like the Cobb AP. The Cobb AP is not a true tune and that can be detected, which is why with the AP you should flip back and forth. But as far as actually getting your car tuned there is no need to reflash, ever, IMO.
Thanks for the info! Hopefully I can find someone reputable near Alamogordo, NM who can tune mine.

You CAN get the 3 maps installed, but personally I think it's a waste of time. When are you ever going to switch back to the stock map? And no one else EVER drives my car, so why do I need a valet map?

hey man, thanks for the reply. i'd probably get 3 maps though because 1) i ocassionally valet and 2) for daily driving/traffic i'd like to get more mpgs
on my 1 tuned map I can get upwards of 25-26 MPG. On the way home from a show yesterday (driving on the beach, NOT highway) I got 25.4 MPG...the stock map really isn't better than a tuned map in terms of MPG. But again, just my $0.02
