Anyone upgrade the stock radiator?

Hello there, just wondering if anyone has replaced the stock radiator with Koyo or mishimoto. Have not heard anything about it yet and would like to get that done soon.

thanks

Just curious why. I know normally you would do it to run a little cooler but these cars dont run very hot IMO. Are they way lighter or something? Plus arent you boosted? Would bigger intercooler benefit more?

What oil problems? I know some people have gone into limp mode but from what i gathered that wasn't from overheating.

At least it's not like the 335i that actually DOES overheat and go into super limp mode

The OP has been TT'd for some time now (it's even in his sig). His engine definitely runs hotter than NA.

And no, I'm not aware of any aftermarket options for our cars yet.

Yea I'm not looking for better numbers just cooler water temps. It gets to around 115 to 121 in las vegas and sitting still in traffic is no good. Coolant got up to 143 a couple weeks ago so that was fun. Everything seems to be forthe g35 at the moment. Wonder of they have a retrofit, haven't seen anything.

You must be in a cold area or have a super G or something. I was hitting oil temp limp mode (6200 rpm limit) after just a few laps at a track day in 75 degree weather. And that was my first track day, I know the car can be pushed a lot harder. Coolant temperature, however, never budged, needle was right in the middle all afternoon.

I have heard Sam at GTM talking about a thicker radiator for the 370z they are developing - not too sure about the G.

Wait a minute, are you talking about the outside temperature display??? That has squat to do with your car's cooling system! That's outside air temperature and it's not particularly accurate all the time, especially when you first start the car after sitting in hot temperatures like LV.

Your coolant temperature and oil temperature are what matter for your engine. They are both significantly higher than 143 while your car's running. We have no stock oil temp gauge. The coolant temp gauge should point right about halfway up when operating normally.
