You should read the edmunds long term test on the 2002 M3. They bought one slightly used for 30k and then had to put 4500 into it immediately. That wouldn't be my cup of tea!

DOn't worry, if and when I get an M3 it will be brand new and under warranty....

Yeah, just like your '08 G37 that you got rid of because you thought the clutch was about to go....

I don't want to jinx it, but a few days down the road the chatter/judder on hill starts in first has improved. I am also setting the rpms slightly higher now. I've been given advice to just drive as normal for a couple of weeks and see how it is then.

I'm betting the 6MT in the M3 will be a little more robust than the G37's. Plus, it probably won't chatter incessantly and vibrate like a blender.....

Did yours chatter incessantly and vibrate like a blender? If so, maybe you just have bad luck. Again, lets not pretend that you own an M3, m'kay? You drive a G37 automatic, so stick to what you know.

^^^How about you stop trolling for my replies to make stupid and pointless arguments with me over? I own an auto G37 because I loved the car but not the manual transmission. Get over it.

Trolling for your replies? LOL, nobody here is trolling for your replies. The fact of the matter is that you take every opportunity you can find to bash the 6MT to validate your choice of switching to an automatic. You sound like a broken record with your line of BS. And you really need to get over yourself. Nobody would waste time trolling the site to see what you have to say.

I switched from an 04 G35 5at to an 08 G37s 6mt cause i wanted a manual and everyone on the g35 board bagged on anyone with an at. So i love changing gears on my own but this is the first manual ive had in 15 years so i may suck at changing gears, but somedays i wish i had the a.t. again bc my shifts are jerky at best. its not such a big deal when im driving alone, but when i have my wife/kids in car i feel like a douche. is it just me? will grounding cables or different clutch/flywheel help? just thinking aloud

I have 42k miles on my 08 G37S and not one problem with the clutch. I do remember when I bought the car the salesman told me if you have any issues with your clutch bring it in and we'll take care of it which I thought was odd for him to say.

Grounding wires will NOT help that problem. You need a left foot transplant.

I am already having trouble again and have 'hotspots' on my flywheel less than 10k miles later. And I drive it like im afraid to break it, but i dont ride the clutch.
Called the dealer and was told these clutches are expected to last 25k miles and never past 40k... we must be calling the same dealer in white plains ny. That made me laugh.

I have a 17 year old bmw with 168k miles on the stock clutch.

Lost all faith in Infiniti. This will certainly be my last.
That is just plain and simply unequivocally wrong. I have 60K on my car right now and the clutch is perfect. Whoever told you that is an idiot. Call Infiniti Consumer Affairs and tell them that your dealership told you that. They wont be happy.
