7AT dipstick location?

I've searched here for 'transmission fluid dipstick" and can't come up with anything.

I've looked under the hood and can't find a tranny dipstick anywhere. The manual recommends leaving service to the dealership, but there is a recommended tranny fluid...

Is there a transmission dipstick anywhere under the hood?

Thanks

someone on G35 driver said this:

"If you are looking at the engine from head on look to the back left of the plenum. It is tucked in that corner just to the right of the battery "casing". It requires i believe a 10 or 15 mm socket to take the bolt off that holds the dipstick in place."

I have not gone outside to check...but hopefully that helps!

Thanks! I guess they intended this to be a dealer serviceable item.

I'll have to have a look in the daylight...

The 7AT has no dipstick as it is a sealed unit that should only be serviced by the dealer. The previous 5AT has a dipstick below the passenger side firewall.

I was wonder about this too. Asked my salesman when he was walking me thru the car and he just gave me a funny look like why would I be doing tranny service. The dealer has to have some means of checking the level? Never before had a car that I could not check, fill and drain the AT fluid myself. Don't like dealers doing anything to my car unless its a warranty item.

A lot of newer cars have sealed trannys - My G8 had a sealed / non-user-serviceable tranny.

If you look at the maintenance schedule the 7AT has no service interval defined. The dealer is the only one that should be servicing it.
