Paddle shifters
I was asking this before i bought my g37xs sedan.
I was planning on getting a g37x coupe and the dealer said they could do it. I forget the price, 700ish I think.
There are a few DIY guides out there but it takes a small bit of custom fab

depends on your car. There is a DIY on it on g35drivers. You have to take your steering wheel off to check if yours is already pre-wire. if it is then you can and if it isn't then a dealership have to do it
Thanks
...don't be stupid like me. Take your time...should be easy to check.
Oh yeah...search on ebay, by seller, for "riverside-infiniti". They have the paddle shifters there. I asked my dealer for pricing on parts and install...$600. The kit costs $220 or so from Riverside and you can do it yourself.
Just some info I thought you should hear: Her car came with the paddle shifters and there is a huge delay in the shifts compared to the stick (manual in drive sport). I never use the paddle shifters because of this.

Mine were pretty quick. About the same as manual in drive sport. It's all about timing with the paddle shifters and manual mode in general. If you don't time your shift with the RPMs it won't be a quick smooth shift. Not saying you can't drive... lol, but maybe try that. Mine worked fine for me.
Oh, I can time it right. But I have to time the paddle shifts way earlier than the stick. To the point it is absolutely no fun with the paddles. You can make it work, but if you're going to drive aggressively with the paddles... good luck.
Very true... It's definitely not like a true manual. I think we're on the same page.
Back to the original topic, does anyone know for sure if the paddle shifters can be installed on the G37 with 7AT transmission? I was told by one person that the connector pins are slightly different for the 7AT transmission.
Has anyone tried installing the kit from Riverside Infiniti on a G37 7AT?

Just saw this thread again and just finished putting in my paddle shifter in my 2009 G37X coupe 7 AT. Connectors are NOT different. That would make no sense as then there would have to be multiple kits. I bought the kit from Riverside on Ebay and it took about an hour to do everything. My paddles work just as well as my stick shift in manual mode. I had read about the "hesitation" some were experiencing and was worried, but needlessly so. I am very pleased with this mod. You will need that 30mm torx security bit to get the airbag out though. And make sure the bit is fully inserted in the screw as that sumbitch is reallll easy to strip. I replaced mine with two regular hardened screws while I was in there as well, knowing that any REAL car thief is going to know he needs a 30mm security bit anyway!
Also, when I first cracked open my steering column I did not think that I had the connectors for it. turns out they were very tightly taped up around the other connectors and pretty easy to miss. So, take your time and look around! My car had a build date of 9/08 in case anyone is wondering or if that makes a difference...
Now, to get some bad *** brakes and I will be happy!
