Got video of this issue!
So since my first post, I have been keeping an eye on this. It happened again today, I luckily I had my iphone with me so i recorded it. It had only happened once since my post, until today. I took it straight to the dealer, where the car behaved beautifully. I showed the service person my video. I have an appointment for next week, as I needed a rental to get back home, and none were available.
The video starts with the car being on, but you are able to see the rpm go down lower than one, then the rpm jump up. I then I turn it off. (this is when I knwe it would start acting up) On the subsequent restarts thereafter you see it just die. The last restart i gave it gas, therefore keeping the G alive.
I told the service person about the MAF sensor, thanks to you guy's input, and he kinda nodded his head in agreement.

Thoughts?

?
Any thoughts on the video....One thing that i have realized is that this only happens when it is Hot as Hell outside. (Los Angeles Hot)
That day it was 90+ oustide. It doesn't happen in the mornings when its cool, its always in the afternoon. The last time it kinda happened it was pretty hot outside

I had the same problem on my both G37.
First, on Sedan, toke me a wile to find out what was the problem.
When the vert had the same simptoms, was a 15 minutes job to solve the problem
The problem was the throtle body. Is a common problem on some Nissan cars.
You have to clean the throtle body (both of them).
There is a black sluge building up on the back of the throtle body valve.
After cleaning, the engine will start perfectly.
Here is a video with instructions. Cleaning the TB valve on G37, is similar, only that you have to clean both throtle body's.
Our G37 have 2 throtle body's. One on the left, the other on the right of the engine block.

It's definitely the butterfly valves you're correct.
