i was revving my car today, and i noticed that it wouldnt go past 5k, is this normal? i have automatic.

Yes, next time search. this has been discussed dozen of times.

 

Usually manufacturers set a standing still rev limit so you dont sit there high revving the motor all day lol but also works at a launch limiter haha, my 6spd does it also. and im familiar with acura rsx's and they have it also. when i dyno tune them i can remove it or set it where ever the customer wants as a 2step.
