B&M Short Throw
B&M Short Throw
So who's got one and how do you like it? The only thing that concerns me (and something I was really looking for) is that it doesn't appear to have any adjustable stops on it which I think would be a HUGE help in saving these tranny's.
I already started a thread asking these same questions and nobody at the moment has it installed, but a few plan on doing it shortly.
I'm patiently waiting as I had a B&M short shifter on my SR swapped 240sx and LOVED IT.

I had a kirban in the vette and loved that sucker and my buddy had a pro 5.0 in his stang and it was sweet as well. I know the B&M's on the vette's have a problem with rattling and I don't wanna listen to that. I also wanna know why B&M didn't put stop bolts in the base.
I installed this shifter over the weekend. Haven't really driven the car much (it's motorcycle weather), but my initial impression is definitely notchier shifts that take a little more effort, but also more precise and clean shifts. The **** will sit a little lower than stock, of course. One huge benefit is the great reduction in the vibration of the shifter while in neutral. You can still feel vibration if you rest your hand on it, but it's not really noticeable when simply looking at it. On my drives, I specifically listened for rattling in all the gears but didn't notice any. There is no spring that reduces the horizontal play in neutral.
The installation took about 3.5 hours. It was a huge bitch because I had to remove the shift **** (and thereby destroying it), remove the center console (I have such difficulty undoing some of the electrical connectors), and unlink the bolt while underneath the car with very limited room. This installation also requires filing away a bit of the metal shift plate to accommodate the changed shifter angles. The adjustment process was fairly straightforward and simple. For me, the only difficult part of reinstallation was putting back the rubber boot that covers up the shift link bolt. Again, it's mainly due to the tight space underneath the car.
All in all, I'm positive about this purchase and installation. I'd occasionally shift into the wrong gear (5->2 instead of ->4), so if a more precise shifter such as this is supposed to help with this, I'll be a happy camper.
Hope this helps.

So what is the proper way to remove the shift **** without destroying it? I like the factory **** and would like to keep it. Are the instructions that come with it alright? What adjustment is there on the B&M ****?
The instructions that came with the shifter were decent. Since the kit also fits 350z/370z/G35, it's not specifically tailored for the G37, so some things weren't specific. It could use some Lego/Ikea diagrams for the assembly portion. The tricky thing was reusing the existing shifter spring and shifter plate in addition to the new plate.
The shifter kit did not include a ****, so for the time being, I'm using my trashed stock ****.

Heres a link that might help. FYI I used the search button bro, come on. http://www.g35driver.com/forums/body...lled-pics.html
3 things. One, I don't visit the g35 forum since I own a 37. Two, the link you posted doesn't work. It shows the following link when you click on it. And three, I didn't ask about the short throw for the g35. I asked about the one for the g37. I also asked about how to remove the shift **** on the g37 without damaging it. I know they are similar but they are not the same so reading up on the shifter for the 35 doesn't really help me bro.
