If your G37 has a rough downshift between third & second gear. . .

My car just received the newest software updates, part of which addresses a problem many owners have complained about. The downshift between third and second gears (at about 22mph) was very rough and jerky, which made coming to a stop smoothly quite difficult. I noticed it in my car all the time.

Having received my car back from the dealership just this morning, my initial impression is OUTSTANDING. It is now nearly impossible to detect! All vehicles now coming off the assembly line have this software, of course. If you don’t have it, get it the next time your car is in for service—at least if this is a problem in your car. I’m very pleased by it.

Great to here...my 7AT was just leased last weekend. I've only got about 250 miles on it but I notice it. Can you look at your receipt or reference a TSB number. Would you mind calling your dealer and ask them for the TSB number?

My car has been in the shop numerous times for an unrelated problem. In the attempt to diagnose it, the regional tech rep noticed the roughness of the downshift while driving it, and voluntarily applied the software update.

Due to the other problem, the update and service are expensed to the factory.

It is for the 7 speed automatic.

I was told that there is no TSB for the shifting issue. I suspect you'll have to ask specifically for it. But that shouldn't be difficult since the regional rep knew all about it. What you should get is the latest software available for the car.

Is this a full blown TSB update? No one seems to know the TSB for this update.

I was told today that this is just about to be TSB, but while it is imminent, it has not quite been released to the dealerships. But it will be, and maybe as soon as next week.

I'm calling it, "The Rever Update."

Just to clarify, was this in addition to a separate update that addressed your engine issues, or was everything resolved by a single reflash?
