Ouch!

Never had that one happen before. What is amplified, a quick-lube place?

I wonder why your hood was partially open on one side. I doubt if there was any damage, but you defintiely want to get a new cap. It was probably left off at the last oil change.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Hmm, interesting.
hope its nothing serious.
Maybe you didn't notice the left side of the hood unlocked during the ride home?
Do you have aftermarket oil filler cover?

gurneyeagle,
Amplified as in Amplified Motorsports. Tune shop in SoCal owned by Lou, they are vendors on this site.

If the Infiniti dealership changed the oil, I would insist on having the engine bay professionally detailed as the oil can attract all kind of dirt on your nice car. That oil gets everywhere.

nothing was wrong with the engine... so infiniti told me oil cap wasn't closed properly..

that is the only way that made it happen

i detailed engine bay myself... didn't feel like going to amplified and complain...

no big deal as long as my car's ok

Well you need to talk to the people who changed your oil..Cause a oil cap just doesnt blow off if its tightened down..

Yeah, and unfortunately, there are a number of people who don't communicate very well - grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.

BTW - my apologies to the guys at Amplified. I wasn't familiar with the shop and meant no disrespect. Being stuck in the banana republic that is South Louisiana, I'm not as familiar with the SoCal scene.
