Someone lied to you. Just try it the next time you want to weave through traffic or drive with a little extra boost. you will enjoy it!

yea... i am just waiting for my 1200 miles mark.
i've never seen the manual asking the driver to go easy for the first 1200 miles.

I know I know... but.. its better safe than sorry.

I'm experiencing something strange with DS.. i would guess it's a sensor or something wearing out though.. but could be wrong.. any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

i can only switch to DS mode one time during a ride anywhere... (as long as i leave it to the left, it will work fine).. but if i move back to D, and then back to DS, it will not switch over again to let me shift when i want/need to.. cannot get back into DS mode, without shutting the car off first.

Anyone experience this before? I asked a guy (a local, trusted shop-owner/mechanic) to look at it, he declined, saying he didn't know how it's supposed to work. (rather than try to explain it to him, i decided to come here and research online myself too).

This is almost always a problem with a component on the shifter assembly. The bad thing is the entire shifter assembly will need to be replaced if my guess is correct. There are lots of threads about this.

Taking this thread back on track.

I'm in DS about 80% of time. I use D while the engine is warming up, and on the highway when I'm trying to recover on my mpg.

Here's what I've been wondering...how often do you use DS and VDC off????

DS all the time, and VDC off when playing. Having the VDC on really helps save the tires (Lead Foot here). My wife drives in D mode only with the VDC on always.

I rarely use DS on the stick anymore now that I have the paddles, which I use all the time. It's great for engine braking and passing. I like how the paddles revert to the Drive mode after a while.

Hold the right paddle for 5 sec & D resumes.
If you use the paddles when in DS mode, the car will stay in gear until a paddle is pressed upon accelerating.

Why don't you shift by yourself in DS? It's closer to a 6MT than shifting in regular D.

90+% of the time I shift for myself. I only leave it in D in my underground parking garage, busy parking lots or bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Sorry if my post was unclear, I do shift it by myself in ds. I was just saying that I do not just put it in DS and drive like that without shifting it manually.
