Was the fuel injector upgrade necessary or just for convenience, if more power is needed?

Also, any idea as to how much power the stock internals of the VQ can hold?

The older gen VQ35 has proven uber-reliable at 400whp when properly set and TUNED. We've done hundreds of them without issue. Tuning is arguably the most important factor in engine longevity. With the stronger rods, pistons, and engine block structure of the VQ35HR and VVEL, we feel that 500whp is the "new" 400whp. IMHO, this engine isn't stressed at all at 500whp.

NICE! Forgive me as I have spent the last 9 yrs modding my TT Z32 and essentially replacing everything. It's gone now and I thought my modding days were behind me, but after my warranty is up, I will be digging deep and starting on the G37!

Unfortunately, one lesson i learned from years of experience with my Z was that no one cares about your car as much as you (owner) do. After a couple of failed engine jobs i learned to do it all myself. It got to the point I could rip my engine out and drop the tranny in about 3 hrs....at home! LOl Not that I wanted too, but there were VERY few people who could work on the VG engine and do it right and the ones that could were primarily on the west coast and booked for a long time! To bad I can't sit with an itch for 5+ years until we accumulate some DIY info as I would love to do it, but I know I can't hold out.

Sounds good Ryan. And I love how uninterested you are, your attitude on these sorts of things is like...12 psi???? My evo is pushing 40 plus PSI, PUSSIES!

It's a really PITA to put a one-off turbosystem on this type of engine configuration, so the kits really make the job a lot more straightforward.
Another NICE! Even with m Z32 I opted for the JWT 530 BB turbos because they gave the best "fun" factor. I like drive ability and not so worried about a Dyno or highway drag queen. I like turbo kits with relatively no lag that spool fast. I hear ya on the one-off setups.

BTW, where does the 37 lack on the suspension side? Not going to be tracking, but when I was under the car the sway bars seemed hollow. Are control arms, bushings etc adequate? When I say adequate I mean for being able to effectively put the 500+ hp to the ground without any wheel hop, chassis squatting etc. I have an AT so I know I will have to either rebuild it or convert over to a MT, but not sure what all is required.

My guess would be not necessary but advisable. I am sure that the stock injectors are close to their max duty cycle and even though you could get away with it, would you want to risk a 15k+ build because you got cheap with injectors and run it lean?! IMHO injectors should be one of the first upgrades someone does from a stock car unless they have verified that the OEM injectors are way bigger than they require with stock setups.
