i replaced muffler and exhaust about 5weeks ago...
after2-3 weeks later it sounded little weired but not really noticeable... but now chainsaw rattle is back...
so i went to dealer and of course they are going to replace it.,.. but they do not have clue what is causing it....
i think all or many of us are on same issue... we have to make it a big issue...
let infiniti know... g37 exhaust and muffler are F*** up...
we can't lemon our car because of this issues... even if it happen 3times
i think best we can do is let infiniti know these problem...and make them fix it..not just replace the part which ll only last month

Too bad you probably cant ask them to just replace it with an aftermarket setup, that would be nice. I doubt they'd go for that though.

 

so you guys are not experiecing these rattle? oh and yeah... i wish they replace it with AFTERMARKET

I'm experiencing it, and also agree that it's pretty messed up that Infiniti doesn't issue a recall and replace all the G37 mufflers with a new version that's not defective. Who wants to keep going back in to the stealership. Heck I've already been there 4 times for "service engine soon" problems the past few months, now I'll be going in for this as well, SIGH!!

 

time to get an aftermarket one.

 

I have the exact same prob. I'm on my 3rd one. My guy at Riverside Infiniti said all he can do until Infiniti releases a new exhaust to fix this issue is to keep ordering me a new exhaust that takes bout 2 weeks each to order. Someone needs to do something about this asap. Since I'm only 22. They prob won't wanna hear anything from a youg lad like myself.

 

I am on my 4th. And it's about to go too. Less than 7K miles.

 

I'm on my 3rd. so far so good , about 1000 miles. They said this one is a newer version.

 

i thought it was new MUFFLER and but...IT isn't asked corporate if they ever built new version and they said no....

 

I'm taking mine in on Saturday for the first time for this problem. I'm at 1900 miles.

 

I've got 3300 miles, as soon as I'm ready for the 3750 oil change, mine will be getting replaced.

 

They did order a set for me but I never went back to get them replaced. I want to make sure they actually fix the problem with the muffler not just replace it!

 

alright onlyhyon, i'm gonna stop coming by your house late at night and shoving marbles into your muffler.
