does 6MT rev match?

This may be a dumb question but here goes. I've read here about 5AT doing rev match with some delays but does our MT do a rev match? On up shifts I notice that when I step on the clutch the engine revs up even without giving gas. I don't notice this while down shifting. Am I used to MT cars without this technology?

I have the 5AT myself, but I'm sure your manual does not rev-match for you.
I suspect the car is still under load when you depress the clutch for the up-shift, hence the "rev match" as you do your up-shift.
Try letting off the gas completely before you depress the clutch, that should stop the engine from reving higher when you depress the clutch.

In a manual you have to rev match yourself. You have to do it ...... manually.

^^^ thanks. I know and do match manually myself. All I'm saying is that today I noticed the RPM went up as I pressed the clutch down to shift up. This is with my foot off the gas pedal. With all my other MT cars RPM needle sinks down. I'm going to take her for a spin again.

EDIT: I guess the engine must be under load for like 1/2 sec so even without any throttle it seems to jump just a little. My bad. I'm not used to this type of high performance machine.

^^^^got this on the infniiti site:

5-speed Automatic Transmission and Manual Shift Mode with Downshift Rev Matching
Electronically controlled 5-speed automatic and manual shift mode offer sequentially selected manual gearshifts as well as Downshift Rev Matching that automatically opens the throttle when downshifting to match the rpm, resulting in smoother gear changes.

Actually I believe ya.. I think I may have seen it happen before, but what I do definitely notice is that the RPM's do not drop as fast as it would in other cars. (e.g. civic/integra)
As a result when I started off w/ this car I would blip it too much when downshifting. As for upshifting it wasn't as smooth..

I think it tends to do what you're talking about more on a cold start. Once the engine warms up, it's not as bad.
