Cold start up's. What do you guys think?

I noticed that when I start my car "cold start" there is a high vibration noise coming from the exhaust. It sounds as if something might be loose. What's up with your car ... same noise??

No noise. Just loader exhaust note because the engine is cold, after a minute it quiets back down.

A couple other people on here mentioned the same thing... I believe its something the dealers already know about and can fix quickly.

I get that too, always goes away in about 20-30 seconds. I'm going to be taking my car in next week and see if they are able to tighten something down so it does not sound like that anymore. A few people have had their exhausts replaced because of this. Guessing since pretty much everyone hears it that its completely normal so no worries.

every car i test drove made the exact same noise. it is more of a raspy sound as stated above for the first 30 seconds or so. i don't think there is an issue or anything the dealer will do.

i agree, it may sound like exhaust rattling, but i believe its just the nature of a cold startup. i dont believe there to be anything wrong with it as everyone can tell the cold start up difference.

Mine has a really nice raspy sound when you first start it up which is normal.

I was under the impression some people actually had a different problem with a metal rattling sounds. I heard someone describe it as if there were a few screws bouncing around inside the exhaust. If this is what you have I believe that infiniti has identified some time of problem and according to other posters they will replace part of your exhaust to fix it.

I start noticing my muffler was making a horrible rattle last week. This only happens when I start my car (cold and warm). It settles after 5-10 minutes though. I took it to my dealership today and they decided to replace my muffler. I will receive my car back tomorrow and hopefully the new muffler isn't defective . *knock on wood*

it is your muffler.

bad baffler inside muffler, dealer had to replace at 1500 miles.
