Why?

First you have to own a G37, then you have to purchase a GT-R engine $10,000+.. not to mention all the other minor/major things that have to be change. Much easier/safer/economical to TT or SC.

Its not dumb, its REALLY DUMB!

^+1 - I agree with DiamondGCoupe....

Why not just do a top notch stroker kit and turn the G37 into the g45 and TT it running moderate psi should still give 450+WHP and a good amount of extra torque too I woudnt be surprised if it got the 0-60 down to about 4.3-4.5 - I mean it is still a heavy car even with added power! It's still heavier than the GT-R right?....It would be cheaper, efficient and quite a bit easier to do TT+stroker kit than a new motor.

you would put down more than 450whp with the stroker and a twin turbo kit for sure..

Yes, to my knowledge many people are getting almost 500 from the G35.

Ya, and if you want you could just bore out the 3.7L engine to 3.8 if you want the same displacement.

It will be done for sure. If people are putting 2JZ's in S2000's and the Nissan V8's in 350's and G35's you can bet your *** there will be a few G's with the GTR motor in it. People keep going back to why dont you just stroke and TT the G. Well the fact is even with all that you are starting off with a motor that has a lot less potential then the GTR motor. So no matter how much money you throw at the VQ37 if you put the same money into the GTR motor the car with the GTR motor is always goin to win......

From: Houston...but NOLA is still home
not sure where the source came from...can't remember but there was a break down on how much the GTR cost and the engine alone was almost $30k

that would be a really expensive engine swap...just go with GTM's stroker and TT kit

Wow $30k I suppose that sounds about right. The VQ35 was about $8000 so figuratively it should be 2-3 times as much. Guessing the 37 is closer to $13k now.

I know we are talking on a different scale but if the gtr motor is 30k as claimed it is not going to stay that way. When the K20 came out people were paying 12k+ for that motor now they can be had for under 3k. Same with Rb26's, SR20's, 2JZ's. This motor will be no different. It will reduce in price and start popping up....

dont get me wrong, i totally agree with what you have stated but the fact that mod (tt or sc) is fill with all the riskies and not knowing how long the motor ll be lasted. but for the big buck you can a have a decent power and safer use in long term??????

^^^ 100% correct^^^
Not to mention, there are a few people out there that just want to be different and push the limits of there car, whether its a motor swap or making a coupe like a 350Z into a targa top.

Take smokey Nagata's Toyota Supra running a RB26dett....same potential as an 2JZ but why put in the Supra???? Because it can be done and it's different.
