Engine rev limits at 2,500

Has anyone have a rev limiter kick in at 2,500rpm?

I been driving, the rev limiter stops at 2,500rpm. If I shut the car off and restart, it is fine. Its happened twice in the first 1,200 miles. Seems like an engine protection feature gone wrong.

I haven't talked to the dealer yet.

Yep, you are in "limp" mode. Get to the dealer. Could be one of many different things.

^^ sounds like a bad ED commercial... "Yep, you are in "limp" mode. Get to the dealer."

Sorry, off-topic and no help to your question.

That’s happened to me when I was showing off the car to some friends and tried to rev in neutral a caution light came up on the gauge cluster and would not allow me to rev past 2500RPM. Then I turned the car off then back on and it was fine.

If youre gonna rev, push the clutch in and do so...

The clutch is spinning and the main drive to the transmission is spinning too. Just no gears meshed. So, no it is not the same.

Tard a.ss...

When you have the clutch pushed in, you disconnect the motor from the transmission, allowing the flywheel to freely spin.
