Really this is really a bit much isn't it. Why have these things if you don't have the energy or the manpower to do the draws Here we are into August and we don't have winners for the last 2 months .

 

agreed i can see these mods moving posts all over the place (which is good since some posts are in the wrong forums) but they don't have the time in 5 months to pick names outta a hat..

Yeah because there are like 20 something Mods and only like 6 Admins and only ONE of those does the drawings. They get done and they stay in order - they just aren't always done right away. They have day jobs, people!

 

but cmon a few months now??? If they don't have time then fine, just post a note or something saying the drawings won't be happening.

 

They have been as far as 6 months behind before. Do I think it sucks - OH YEAH! But being the wife of a Mod (and even before that) I am well aware of the fact that these guys have regular jobs and don't get paid to do this stuff. There are times when work and family make it harder to spend the time online that you would like. Plus, the Admins have a whole lot of things related to running the site that are more important than the drawings so if time is limited they try to keep the site up and running properly - personally I would rather they do that than do drawings.

 

It doesnt take much to make a single thread with 1-2 sentences on why there hasnt been any "giveaways" since June.

And contribute to the costs of running the site. Plus, I'm sure you like most people with access to it have taken advantage of the Anything Goes forum.

Is $30 A YEAR really breaking anyone? If so, you should probably buy a different car because you can't afford the gas and upkeep on this one.

 

It's not much, but it's the principle of integrity in something like this.......I moderate on multiple online forums, and it is a selfless and unpaid job, yes.....But when I am going to be away, I make sure other staff members are aware of slight inactivity in certain areas so that the structural integrity of certain things on the site do not fall due to this. You take a responsiblity, you hold to it. As simple as that. Whether it is voluntary and unpaid or not.

 

I have never said that I agree with it taking a long time for these things to be drawn BUT they are drawn without missing any. If it is October before Kyle draws them, he will draw from each list for each month. It isn't ideal but frankly are any of us really hurting in life because we haven't gotten free stuff?

Seriously, they spend a lot of time just running the site. This site is huge and the people who handle the logistics of this site number around 6 people total. The Mods handle the organization and the problems with members and arguments and so forth. They aren't the ones handling problems with the servers, updates to the software, and the rest of the IMPORTANT stuff required to make the links work when you click them.

As long as the drawings are simply late and not missed then I personally can deal with it. Yeah, it's not perfect but little is in life and you aren't paying for the chances to win stuff - you are paying to support the site so the free stuff is just gravy.

 

Well we can prob go on and on about this but fact is some of us just don't like it while on the other hand you can live with it.

 

Understandable.......but I don't just sham on the COTM feature on my site by running a June COTM in September because it is "not required" to run the site........When you set something up on ANY website, it is now an extra responsiblity that the site represenatives (staff) are resposible for upholding. Just because they get it done in due time does not make it "alright" for them to take a good site such as this, and let certain things fall behind because they don't have the time. If they don't have the extra time to spend, take a step down from staff. It's a voluntary "job", and if you cannot devote the time it requires to maintain little things every now and then, or let the members know what is going on, then maybe you shouldn't be volunteering the little time you have. Let someone else do it who has more.

 

So the drawing is late once again, so what you probably won't win anyway!
It's not like the winning cash is going to make your car payment. Last Sat
at the Peterson/Nissan carshow I had incredable luck....25 tickets and 4 wins
but three were $50 Stillen certificates. The guy handing out prizes after I
won the third Stillen certificate told me "You've won a lot today, huh!"
WTF I should have been in Vegas.....or not!

I say, just hang in there and be patient ppl. He's probably hella busy with life, work, both and keeping Drivers server running tip top.
I'm confident he'll catch up when he finds the time to take a breath.
If some ppl are butt hurt from the delay, go to Vegas, Atlanta or play the lotto for quicker results...lol

I don't even look at the give away stuff but someone brought it to my attention so I took a peek and am glad I don't visit this area.

I'm not involved with the giveaways etc. but I'll look into it and see what the problema is. I have a pretty good idea what is delaying things but like I said I'll see what I can do for ya all but for the time being, pls stop the whinning. How bout some constructive posts.... lol

 

OK, please give us a little more time and we should get this worked out and fixed up. It's going to take several days to get it all straight but I'm working on it and we should be caught up shortly.
