G37 tune

I’m getting uprev tune in a couple weeks and I was seeing if there’s anything else I should add to my car for more power and louder/ more consistent noise level before I get the tune. I have k&n cold air intake, borla cat back exhaust system, and street demon muffler tips. Thank you

There are a lot of things you can do but first do some research. Here's a good place to start: https://www.myg37.com/forums/newbie-...read-this.html

It all depends on your budget and what you're looking for. Don't expect much of a bump from a tune with just an intake and exhaust change though. If you're planning on doing more performance mods then do that first otherwise you'll be back paying to get it tuned again.

Test pipes or high flow cats is going to net the most power. If that's not in your future plans then move on with the tune and inquire about the ARC upgrade for the Uprev tune. Allows for multiple maps and allows the tuner to use timing tables vs. burn tables which will result in a more proficient tune.

A shop near me will give me universal magna flow hfc and install them for 750. He said it’d give me 10-12 hp gain and 20-30% louder. Is that a good price?

Go with a properly designed exhaust meant for the G. Motordyne, Fast Intentions, Z1, ISR, Greddy, SOHO.

Seems the Magnaflow cats run between $650 and $800 retail... which is pretty expensive. Figure between 2-4 hours for the install, at $100/hr ball bark. That puts your high-end overall cost at $1200. So I suppose if you look at it that way, then sure, $750 parts & labor out the door is a fair price.

I'm not familiar with Magnaflow on the G. You don't see that much here. As a general rule, I'd shy away from "universal" exhaust parts, and instead target proven setups, like jpowersjr2 just said.

I'll also add that yeah it'll be louder but look up clips on exhaust rasp. That's going to be a lot of the noise you hear and most aren't happy with it. If that's not the noise you're looking for then go with Fast Intentions resonated high flow cats.
