hypertech 62005
Just got a hypertech tuner and I was really excited to use it. Plugged it into my 2011 IPL, it scanned my VIN, followed a few small steps and got the "calibration not found" message. I tried updating the tuner on their website and will have to wait 1-3 days to get a "tune" from hypertechs engineers.
My question (to the former owners of a until like this) is: although I didn't get to finish installing this to my vehicle and since the tuning device scanned my VIn, are they now married????
Bc now I think I just want to sell this thing and go UPREV. I wanted to experience the 0-60 limiter removed, and throttle response "improvement" myself. But this is now just a hassle big enough for me to not care anymore.
Anyone?
Who wants to buy this if it's not married!? Lol
Ps it's good to be back on the forum!

Got the update from Hypertech. The only thing I changed (removed) was the 0-60 speed limiter.
Before I did this though I took a leisurely drive to get a feel for the throttle response. After removing the speed limiter I can definitely feel an increase in throttle response. Another member put it, "you can feel the difference but it's nothing earth shattering". Although not being earth shattering, the car accelerates very very quickly. I can feel the car go through the rev range a lot quicker than before. i am pleased with this so far.
Next to be changed will be: speed rating of tires
I don't think I will install the tune as I've read that this will only be beneficial for stock G's as my car is an IPL.

Honestly, see if you can return it and go with ECUTek. Has more features and abilities than any other offering out there and has full VVEL and timing control (UpRev doesn't). You'll get better results more safely. Now if you don't have any mods...I'd just leave the car stock.
For the 0-60 limiter, try launching with the VDC off and see if it makes a difference. I just went from the stock Bridgestones to Michelin PSS and there's quite a bit more straight line traction. I'm not noticing any hesitation or limit in first or second gear as long as I maintain traction. With the old tires and VDC on, there was a definite curtailing of power when the tires would loose grip and sizzle.

As far as turning off the VDC... I didn't think of that I'm already on PSS buttttt it's already getting cold so the winter set will have to come out of hybernation.
