Video shows a gain of 6 foot pounds torque and 14 HP...

 

Based on that Dyno the stock filters are very restrictive between 6,500 and 7,000 RPM. I'm also surprised the torque curve is that flat... I had no idea.

 

This video is pretty cool. I can't wait to tune my sedan and see how much gains I get with my stillen gen 3 and art pipes and top speed y back

 

I hate to say this but I call BS. I did the same testing and gained 2-3 peak whp and same wtq. This was 3 back to back with stock filters, 3 without filters, 3 with k and n. The biggest bump was with no filters where I got about 5 whp but same 2-3 wtq as k and n. Also, the filter he uses in the video is a fram and not genuine infiniti.

 

Any other mods when you did the dyno test? While the HP in the video is a little high, the torque gain is consistent with what others have posted over on the 370 board

Those results are encouraging. However, I'd like to see used oil analysis after 3,750 miles or so using genuine filters vs. K&N drop-ins. I'm particularly interested in seeing the concentration of silica in the oil.

 

You can start threads anywhere you want, but I'm thinking your Sedan efforts belong right here somewhere, in the Sedan forum. Moderators will enforce rules entirely at their own discretion, but everything else is more like guidelines. You certainly could (or should) start a progress thread. Absolutely your brake pad replacement video would be a welcome add to the DIY forum, but the thing about the Tech Area and other places is they don't get the kind of social traffic that the general Sedan and Coupe forums do.

I completely understand where you are coming from and this is in progress
I have a G37 baseline used oil analysis (K&N filters were in for about 100 miles) and will be re-testing in the spring.

The baseline Silicon was 28 PPM.

My 1995 Maxima had a Stillen velocity stack & K&N cone filter on about 125,000 miles and the silicon was always around 16 PPM. I sold the car at 248,000 miles and it didn't burn any oil and ran great.

BUT, I will be keeping tabs on this and will share the results.

 

Report from 5,300miles. Now using 10K OCI and everything is still O'tay!
