Knock Sensor Help

Hello, this is my first post on this website and hope i can be assisted by the community professionals or smart techs. I recently went to get a high flow cat and cat back exhaust put on and then have it tuned. Everything went on and we went to tune it and the knock sensor was completely maxed (if that makes sense, not sure how else to put it). The tuner has been doing this for 10 years and has a reputation on the east coast. That being the basic story i would like to ask why the knock says the combustion is completely not good. The car runs fine (engine noise wise) and i use 93 octane gas and i am not in mass. We came up with a couple ideas on why this might be happening. He said bad knock sensors. He said this because after he reset my ecu to factory it read 0 and then shot up to max numbers. He then tried all different types of tunes. still no improvement. I was think it could have been one of my existing mods on the car, i had a stillen gen 3 CAI installed that makes a rattle noise(most likely not the issue but i never rule things out). My other mod would be a stillen grounding kit. If the kit was wired wrong, would it make the knock sensor go hay wire. Thanks for reading this and i would love your opinions on my experience! Currently my next move is going to get new knock sensors, but if there is a less expensive way i would love to know. Thanks any input helps and sorry for bad english, if any.

Just a quick update from this. I was driving today and my car didnt allow me to give it gas and basically went in limp mode with all the lights on the dash going on. So i quickly pulled over shut it off and turned it back on. Same thing happened so i decided to shut it off and wait a little longer. I started it and put it in drive and was able to accelerate. My service engine light is now on. Im not sure what this means. The car still sounds fine and drives the same. Could it be the exhaust they put on yesterday? Or is it just a coincidence that my car started acting funny when i had them install the exhaust. i see i got some views but no replys. Any feed bac kwould help, even a sorry no idea haha. Thanks for taking the time to read this and help me out.

I did today and they pulled the code p0605 which basically tells me something wrong with my ecm. Is the knock sensor a part of this? Or would i have got a different code.

Sounds like something went wrong in your tuning of your getting an ecm code. I would probably go to someone else to get the tune sorted out.if it was the knock sensor you would get a different code.

Well the guys who installes my exhaust also were going to tune it. When they went to tune it, they found that the knock sensor was giving off very high knock. So he couldnt finish the tune. So that makes sense why my check engine light went on and i went into limp mode. Thanks for your help on that issue. Now i need help on why my knock sensor would give off that high of "ping". Like i said before it runs fine and sounds fine.

sounds to be more of a tuning or software issue that the tuning shop may not be getting right. its obvious that the check engine light wasn't on prior to the mods and tune that these supposed "know it alls" are doing to your car.

No success

I had my cars knock sensors replaced and still got the same readings. (High knock) they said they are going tocontact uprev about the issue. I was also doing some research and came up with some possible issues causing the high knock. First one is the o2 sensors being in a bad spot and beed to be moved. Second was the timing on the intake valve solenoid. Last would be the ecu but i dont think it is. I found most of these possible issues from other forums on this sight. Let me know what you think or agree with any of these. Thanks

Might be time to move to different tuner? Have you tired flashing back to stock and taking the car to the dealer with the CEL light on?

I am going to goto a infiniti dealer have have them try and diagnose it. The cel only went on cause of the tune that he had on there. He also tried a whole bunch of tunes including the factory one. So i am hoping the infiniti dealership can tell because from what i understand they have a reader for everything on there cars. I also dont think the light will go on again. I am going to go pick it up now with the factory tune on it. Ill keep you posted
