got a tune finally!

Hey everyone

So I'm pretty excited I got my car tuned with seb (sebastian) today over at specialty z in chatsworth CA.

I have an 08 g37s. Engine mods are stillen gen 3 intakes, ported upper m370 manifold, ported lower stock manifold, ported stock throttle bodies, fasthe intention rhfc's, and fast intentions resonated cb exhaust. Now keep in mind all those intake mods excluding the gen 3's are focused on mid range and are known to reduce top end.

After the tune there's a HUGE noticeable difference in power and response. I'm very happy and impressed. Now the way it was done is the baseline pulls were in 3rd and the main pulls were in 4th. Anyone know why this is? And as I have a 5at, why it wasn't ran in 5th?

Attached are a couple pics of the dyno sheet. I'm by no means very good at reading these things. Anyone know why on the left it shows my top hp was 292 but on the actual line graph it shows max 267?

Again either way I'm very happy and impressed and absolutely notice the difference and would recommend this and specialty z to anyone here is socal.

All input and answers to my questions and runs would be welcome and appreciated.

Also, one thing I forgot to mention is seb said I was knocking a bit and asked what gas I was using. I told him 91 chevron, interestingly he said switch to shell as that will not only stop the ping but also improve a bit on power. He said based off of testing they have done themselves recently shell seems to be the best and chevron has gone to s**t

I believe that the 267 is just the point on where he clicked on the graph. So saying where he clicked, at that point it was at 267 AT THAT TIME.

Your top is still 292 though.

I could be wrong, but I think that's what it is :-).

So you basically removed nearly all restrictions in the intake and exhaust and you are not even over 300 whp? Don't get me wrong. The improvement is nice but I would expect more from all the work you have done.

Can you guess what the tune added alone? Where was the power added. Low end or top? Is it more responsive over all or just at certain rpms?

This is what I'm thinking also. All those mods right there should get you to at least over 300.

I agree. That makes me not want to add anything to my stock G. Great job though OP for upgrading and loving the results, im sure it was worth it to you. Keep and eye on the knocking(ping/detonation).

Yea that is correct. Remember though our cars are extremely efficient as is and other than going forced induction there won't be significant gains. That being said the intake manifolds and the throttle bodies I did increase low and mid range and actually decrease top end. Also the fact that I decided to go with hfc instead of long tube headers affects top end.

I'm more concerned with low and mid range vs top end as here in socal there aren't many places I'm getting to 130mph plus or 5th gear at 7500 rpms where that peak hp everyone is concerned with shows up.

Based off of what I was looking for and the specific mods I did to achieve this I am happy as low and mid range is a freakin beast at this point.

Not gonna lie though, seeing 300+ on paper would have been cool.

Fast intentions catback/rhfc, m370, stillen gen 3 and uprev gave my 08 5at 311whp! do it! it totally changes the way the car feels. you can feel the torque and faster response wooooo I miss my parts
