BeerViper vs. Hyperlitesmu

I wanna see that race. When are we planning a group trip to Ennis? I'm going on the 25th for the event there, but we need to set up a date for a normal Friday night street night. I'll get it on tape and post it.

Jon, can you post pics of the engine bay now that you have the grounding kit?

Interesting scenario here......What are the ground rules.....do we have to run the same boost? is it from a roll or stopped. Do we have to match vehicle curb weights to compensate for my 150+ lbs. of stereo equipment? All good questions here. The torque of the TT would be hard to overcome. But the instant power of the SC would be a good plus. The problem with the extra torque is traction. My launch can't be very agressive or the car will build crazy boost and spin through first. From a roll I think I pull on him until high rpm in 4th gear where his top end HP will catch up. From a stop I think he pulls shifting into 4th.....this is of course with all things being equal like weight, boost, etc. As it sits now......I'll run you 8.2 psi at 415 to the wheels, extra weight and all and may pull off the win. But if we make things the same and I run 6 psi and hit like 360 or 370 then it would be an interesting race.

Here is a pic from the meet last weekend

Also now have the JDM battery cover and as of Tuesday a clean new K&N filter.

I think I re-gained 20hp with the clean air filter

Jon, I would really love to know which points on your engine you used for grounding wire points. My friggin car is not grounded properly with those stupid things and I think it's user error. What are you doing this weekend? I need to come by and solve this problem.

I'm not sure if I will be able to make it on 3/25 yet. I already told Dave that I can't make it out to Miss. when he picks up the Skyline but that will be an all day ordeal. I'm not sure if the Ennis drag meet will be an all day event as well ... it really depends on timing and what I have going on leading up to that weekend.

I wouldn't be opposed to doing a little group dragstrip run on a Friday night though either way.

Many good points here ... If you did run at 8+ psi I think you would just walk away even though I might get the jump off the line. That's a difference of almost 45 rwhp. Even with the added weight of the stereo system I'm still pretty sure the TT would win here. That's where I tell you to bring your mighty TT to the track and watch you suffer with body roll and understeer while I'm zipping through the turns

In the 1/4 mile we are only getting up just over 100mph so the top end hp won't matter as much. The 1/4 mile is more a test of torque and traction than of horsepower until you get towards the end.

The TT at 6psi would definitely be a good race, the torque advantage would still be there but not the extra ponies!

Heads up, all mods available to the cars as they sit, from a dig and at a drag strip so there are lights...your extra weight is definitely made up by your power and delivery. His car spins in 1st, 2nd and 3rd if he doesn't feather the clutch off the line.

my fastest time was in Cali at CalSpdWay (1100ft above sea level) with the stock clutch (heavier and easier to get off of the line)...I ran a 13.4 @ 109mph. That was before the spacer and new Texas 93 octane tune. Fastest I ran at Ennis was 13.6, but my 60ft was like 2.8. Terrible, I know. I was trying to get used to the lightened clutch and flywheel at the drag strip...it's made for road racing, not dragging. But I bet Jon get take in the low 13's now and if he got slicks, 12's are definitely possible.
